YEAR-END FUNDRAISING WORKSHOP FOR ONLINE GIVING

Sponsored by:

iATS Payments

The year-end season is the most critical giving season for nearly every nonprofit organization. Over the course of 31 days, many organization will bring in 30% or more of their annual online revenue with up to 46% of that coming in during the last week of December alone.

With so much on the line, how do you create an online year-end fundraising campaign that reaches the right donors, at the right time, with the right message – and brings in donations?

During this workshop, you’ll learn all of the essential ingredients needed for a successful year-end campaign, as well as ideas on how to optimize each component based on data, research, and learnings from thousands of online fundraising experiments.

VALUE PROP WORKSHOP: WHY SHOULD I GIVE TO YOU?

Your value proposition is the backbone of your fundraising. And contrary to what you may think, a strong value proposition is not simply just your mission or vision statement.

A strong value proposition clearly articulates to your donors exactly why they should give to your organization rather than another like it, or not at all.

This workshop will cover every aspect of crafting an effective value proposition including:

  • Shifting your perspective of donor “funnels” to actually address your donor’s concerns
  • The 4 elements of an effective value proposition
  • How to contextualize your message for the right people at the right time
  • And more!

During the workshop, you’ll discover tested and proven tactics that innovative nonprofits are using every day to align their messaging with motivations of their donors and unleash greater giving.

Meet Me in the Middle - How Technology Can Help You Connect with Your Mid-Level Donors

One of the most underserved segments of the fundraising space is the mid-level donor, usually those that give between $1,000 and $10,000 per year. In many programs, these donors are excluded from broad-based campaigns and are not quite large enough to warrant the attention of the major gifts officers. But aren’t they too valuable to ignore?

Courtney Gaines will share some techniques that almost any organization can use to bridge this gap and then lead a discussion on the mid-level donor and how ach of our organizations are addressing this problem.

They Ask You Aanswer - A Revolutionary Approach to Content Marketing and Today's Digital donor

Based on his landmark book, that has sold over 150,000 copies around the world and was named a “Top 5 Marketing Book of All Time,” They Ask You Answer addresses two fundamental and
prolific problems organizations are dealing with today:

  1. How do we evolve our business model to fit the demands of a dramatically more informed, less patient, and more digital donor?
  2. How can we establish our brand and organizarion as the voice of trust in our space, while attracting enough donors and standing out above the noise?

With these important questions in mind, attendees in this program will learn:

  • How organizations must evolve their fundraising and marketing departments (and their priorities) to meet the expectations of informed digital donors
  • The very specific types of content today’s donors demand to see (and learn about) on a your website – and how to effectively address these subjects to gain their trust
  • The role video and visual will play on the decision-making process moving forward and how organizations can effectively embrace this critical medium
  • The power great content can have when used intentionally in the donation process, and how fundraising teams can revolutionize their marketing process when it’s applied correctly
  • How donors are demanding more of a “seller-free” experience on the front end of the donation process
  • The up-and-coming trend of “self-service” – and how organizations can effectively integrate it with their website experiences

COUPLES Copywriting therapy

You’re working hard to say all the right things to potential donors but you’re still struggling. It feels like they don’t hear you, don’t understand you, or just don’t care (anymore) but that’s probably not the case. In this session you’ll take a step back, see your donor with a fresh perspective and realize what to say (and what NOT to say) to make them fall in love with you (again)—no fancy therapist required.

Money and Happiness, Giving and Getting

Can money make you happy? Our research suggests that it can – if you give it away. Encouraging people to spend on others makes those people happier than spending on themselves. In addition, the positive impact of behaving charitably can improve employee satisfaction and job performance. Professor Norton will discuss how his research should change the way organizations think about incentivizing employees and how we should think about spending our own money.
